Testimonials:

When did you decide to start?

I started following an aggression of memory in 97! My sensei (Lebranchu of the aikido club Condrieu) that I met as a result of my aggression in front of my college offered me to come and watch 1 course then 2 and then I went on the tatami mats to get out of it .

How did you find the Club?

It was he who found me!

Tell us about your welcome, your integration ...

Particularly exemplary and warm, I never had any problem to adapt my practice suwari waza or tachi waza. I do not feel integrated, I'm like everyone in my club.

What do you like in Handi-Valide practice?

I do not like the practice handi / valid, I practice valid handi with other practitioners without disabilities, at no time there were specific adaptations or specific issues, there is no difference in our practices so practice valid handi disappears for the good of all and remains only aikido.

What benefits do you find in practicing a martial art?

In terms of my cerebral palsy, it is ultra beneficial, it brings me a fight against my spasticity, a physical activity complementary to the physio or my other high level sports activities.

Stéphane BONVALLET

"On the psychological side, it's fraternity and a real job of exchange and trust with the other aikidokas."

Philippe BURY

When did you decide to start?

I started practicing Aikido about twenty years ago.

How did you find the Club?

It all started with a question to my son's aikido teacher: Can a blind man practice Aikido?

The club decided to take up the challenge.

Tell us about your welcome, your integration ..

The integration with the valid practitioners was done naturally, which allowed me to feel very quickly, on and around the tatami.

In 2006 I changed my club. The teacher wanted a 3-week trial period that ended positively. Again, the integration was smooth. The apprehension of some aikidokas dissipated very quickly.

What do you like in Handi-Valide practice?

Handi-valid practice is beneficial for the whole club. It allows me to confront valid partners and forces them to find non-visual ways to explain the actions. Many of them say that this "constraint" helps them to progress in their own practice.

What benefits do you find in practicing a martial art?

The practice of Aikido allows me to be much more cool in everyday life: for example less stress and concentration better controlled in my travels and more serenity in the face of unforeseen situations.

"Many of them say that this" constraint "helps them to progress in their own practice."

When did you decide to start?

The first contacts with the A.S.Hainneveille Karate Club began in early September 2017, following their solicitation. They told me about their project and asked me to help them set up the handi-karate section. After a few days of reflection, I thought '' and why not me ...! ''.

How did you find the Club?

Having a teacher father of judo in the same association, I already knew the karate club.

Do you speak about your welcome, your integration ...

The reception is excellent! The advantage of knowing some people in the club helps to easily integrate into this new discipline. The integration was very good and nice! Knowing a few people helped me a lot!

What do you like in Handi-Valide practice?

In practice Handi-Valide I like the mix and to be able to share our different feelings. There are 2 very different contexts! Everyone learns a lot!

What benefits do you find in practicing a martial art?

We live in a world where we see a lot of things very negative unfortunately. Too often, vulnerable people with disabilities are judged. By practicing a martial art I want to prove the opposite, that we are able to defend ourselves in case of aggression. It's people like us who are targeted first! "
